Jeff and Rose's BIG PICTURE Wellness Tips
All our careers as health professionals, we learned and reflected on the nature of health and wellness - on what helps or undermines it, and what supports the process of HEALING. Our work also included sharing what we knew, and teaching patients what they needed to know at a particular moment in time. This teaching was of course adapted to the individual - but there were also things we taught again and again, even for decades. Later in our careers, therefore, we also turned naturally to teaching classes, and writing handouts and articles patients could keep and use later at home.
While we no longer work directly or in person with people, our impulse to share what we've learned continues. Our skills for health and healing - specific measures in different areas - have coalesced for us into a principle we think of as "living water" - a term you'll find in the names of some of our websites - and in spirit, we hope in all of them.
Here are some wellness tips and ideas adapted to support customers of our Touchstone Essentials business. For more - and as you'll find, eclectic - wellness resources, see our website Living Waters Wellsprings. In the meantime, here are some wellness ideas you may be able to work with - even right away !
1) Identify why you want to be healthy. If you were as well as you'd like to be, what would you do with your better health and strength ? Clarify your reasons for wanting to be healthier, and to keep yourself motivated, write them down. Clarifying this will help you commit to goals you choose, and really follow through. To sort this out for yourself, check out our resource
Why Be Healthy ?
2) Identify specific goals for yourself - detoxing your body ; gut health ; heart health ; stronger immune system etc - and choose your Touchstone products accordingly. When you first see the many choices there are, it might seem confusing - but identifying what you need and want now will help help you find your way.
3) Know that health and wellness are a whole person affair - a matter of "body" of course, but also of soul and spirit. If the inner person is conflicted, even the best physical and external measures can fall short. This kind of exploration might seem daunting at first, but it's not impossible. Browse our Living Waters Wellness resources just below, and be gentle with yourself !
4) For external/physical, "from the outside in" wellness measures, see our website page "Health !"
5) For considerations of "soul" and of emotional and inner life, see our page "Emotional Wellness".
6) For some straightforward orientation points on what might seem a complex theme, see our Living Waters Wellness page "The Spirit".
7) Next, a very basic but important principle : practically speaking, any supplement you use works better inside your body than it does in the bottle !
If you know you need to detox your body (or to heal your digestive tract, or protect your heart), stay with it. Long term issues need your long term attention. Once you start, be consistent, and stay the course.
8) Again practically speaking : keep an eye out, not just for outer obstacles to your health and wellness, but for internal ones. We all have these.
Look - gently - at ways you may resist or undermine getting healthier. Whether the obstacles are practical or emotional, write them down and keep them in your awareness !
9) Connect with others interested in wellness. Whether it's a friend you walk with, a gym buddy or someone with similar wellness goals, adding social and communication elements will make your own efforts - and theirs - more effective.
Not least, communicate with health professionals of your choice. In this regard even conventional medicine, for all its faults, can at certain moments be just what you need - and can save your life.
10) Don't let money be an obstacle. Take note that

- You don't have to use all the Touchstone products at once. As noted in tip # 2, you only need to identify the issues most pressing to you now, or that you want to work on first. Choose the Touchstone products most helpful to those first, and adjust your selections later.
- If you're tempted to compare the cost of Touchstone products to big box or discount outlet prices - well yes, supplements derived from petroleum products (or worse) will cost less. Spend five minutes or less with this chart and consider : you get what you pay for.
- By becoming a Touchstone VBO and sharing these worthwhile products, it's possible to reduce your own product costs to zero - and/or build an income of any size !
